AN ARTIST who specialises in scenes of coastal towns and windswept moors is holding an exhibition at Thirsk’s Rural Arts Court House Gallery.

Kezy Feaster, from Cropton near Pickering, is mainly displaying works from coastal towns inspired by Whitby and Staithes, and Court House manager Angela Holt said she was glad to be able to showcase her work.

Ms Holt said: “Kezy’s work is quite quirky but they capture the essence of the towns they depict – there’s something in them that shows the character and lifestyle of the towns.

“I met Kezy through something else at Rural Arts a while ago and saw her work at an exhibition in Cropton. I asked her if she would like to exhibit with us because I like her work and thought our visitors would enjoy it too.

“She uses mixed media in her art, including watercolours and oils.”

Ms Holt said some of Ms Feaster had already sold some paintings, and said as well as framed pieces available to buy, visitors could also browse through unframed work and postcards.

Ms Feaster said: “In my work I aim to capture the feeling of a place. I see the moors and coastal towns in all moods, lights, weather and seasons and I try to reflect this.

“I love working with mixed media and experimenting with layering texture and colour.”

The exhibition runs at Rural Arts until the end of February. Visit www.ruralarts.org.uk.
