A YOUTH theatre is preparing to take people on a magical mystery tour of the world of Dr Seuss.

The Crash Bang Wallop (CBW) Youth Theatre are currently rehearsing their latest musical, Seussical, based on at least 15 of the much-loved Dr Seuss books, with contributions from Eric Idle.

On the face of it, Seussical is a story about how Horton the Elephant discovers a race of tiny people called the Who, invisible to everyone but himself, and the trials he goes through to save them. The story, which touches on friendship, the futility of war and being “different” embraces the power of the imagination and positive thinking.

In the last two years, CBW Youth Theatre, which meets in Stokesley, was awarded a regional NODA award for its production of West Side Story and Spamalot, which was judged the best youth theatre production in the North-East.

Seussical runs at the Forum in Northallerton from Wednesday, February 7 until Saturday, February 10, with evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2pm.

Tickets are £12 adults and £9 children, with a £9 concession for people over 60 on Wednesday and during the Saturday matinee.

Tickets can be booked by phoning the CBW box office on 01642-722192, or the Forum Northallerton on 01609-776230.
