COMPLETION of a road improvement project is expected to be delayed because of April’s prolonged heavy rain.
Work at the Brambling Fields junction on the A64 at Norton, near Malton, was due to be finished by the end of June.
However the rain has made parts of the site inaccessible and the completion date is likely to slip.
However, the contractors are confident that the scheme will still be completed in time for the start of the school summer holidays, when traffic flows on the A64 – a main route to the Yorkshire coast - traditionally see a marked increase.
