A FLOURISHING community-run library is running a special "Cops and Robbers" workshop for children this month.
Helmsley Community Library became voluntarily-run in April 2017 and has now extended its opening hours on a Wednesday morning from 10am to 1pm, meaning it is now open 21 hours a week.
In addition, it is running a Cops and Robbers workshop on April 12 from 2pm to 3.30pm for children aged five to 12-years-old.
Families can go along and find out what life was like for a Victorian policeman, with stories from Ripon’s murky criminal past – along with tales of how bad life could be if you were a prison inmate.
There will be the chance to get hands-on with historic objects, taking fingerprints and discovering what makes a good witness.
The workshop is being delivered by MakeMore Arts.
