A HEAVY goods vehicle collided with another vehicle before allegedly driving off without stopping.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the collision on the A170 at Thornton-le-Dale at 6.08am this morning.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire fire service said: "Appliances from Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Malton attended this incident which was a heavy goods vehicle that had collided with a separate vehicle that had driven off without stopping."
Fire crews and paramedics removed the driver from the HGV using a high working platform and manpower.
The driver was complaining of neck pain and was taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up, the fire service said.
