A WOMAN has been charged after gluing herself to the entrance gate to the fracking site in Kirby Misperton.
The 39-year-old anti-fracking protestor was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with hindering lawful business.
Police officers removed her from the gate off Habton Road before the glue set, and arrested her at about 10.40am.
She will appear at York Magistrates Court in January 2018.
Seventy people have now been arrested in connection with protest activity at Kirby Misperton since September 2017, of whom 63 have been charged, cautioned or remain under investigation.
Meanwhile, the anti-fracking protestors have won support from a Hollywood actor.
Mark Ruffalo, well-known for his portrayal of The Hulk in the contemporary Avengers films, sent a tweet to Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and made direct reference to the North Yorkshire site.
He said: "Ireland and Scotland banned fracking because of public health and environmental harms.
"Please protect people and refuse consent for fracking in Ryedale and North Yorkshire."
