STUNNING shots of wildlife are going on display at Nunnington Hall this week.

The National Trust property, near Helmsley, is once again hosting the British Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition.

The awards were created in 2009 as a way to celebrate the talents of both amateur and professional photographers, while revealing the splendour of Britain’s wildlife.

There are fifteen separate categories in the contest including animal behaviour, urban wildlife and marine life, as well as three junior categories to encourage young people to connect with nature through photography.

The exhibition opens this Saturday, and to celebrate its return and mark the bank holiday, there will be organised activities for the whole family with with ‘Nature @ Nunnington’ events on May 28 and 29.

Laura Kennedy, visitor experience manager at Nunnington Hall, said: “As well as the fantastic exhibition to enjoy, we’re looking forward to welcoming to visitors to Nunnington to get hands on with nature.”
