THIEVES have smashed through the window of a jewellers in a North Yorkshire market town, grabbing items including rings and necklaces.
The raid on the jewellers in Malton was discovered just after 3.30am this morning (Wednesday, January 4) after an alarm alerted police and the business owners.
The front window of B Leefe & Son on the town’s Market Place, had been smashed and display boards were taken from the window before the raiders fled.

North Yorkshire Police say two people were seen running from the shop.
A spokeswoman said: “The window of the jewellers was smashed and display boards were taken from the window.
“The investigation is ongoing to determine exactly what has been taken, but it is thought that rings and necklaces were stolen.”
