RYEDALE is gearing up for Christmas with special shopping events, festive lights and seasonal attractions.
Shop owners in Malton are planning to open late each Thursday in the run up to Christmas, starting on November 24 to coincide with the town’s light switch-on at 6pm.
In Norton, the Christmas lights switch-on will take place at the Derwent Arms in Church Street on November 25 at 6pm with entertainment from 4pm.
The annual festive market will be held in Kirkbymoorside on November 26, 10am to 3pm. Santa will also visit from noon to 2pm.
The festive season gets underway in Pickering on December 3, with the light switch-on at 5pm.
The lights switch-on at Thornton-le-Dale will also take place on December 3, at 6pm and will include a visit from Santa.
