TWO breweries are preparing to raise their glasses for a celebration of beer.

Beertown, organised by Malton’s Bad Seed and Brass Castle breweries, is returning for a third year to showcase some of the best beers around, alongside live music from local bands.

The Milton Rooms, in Malton, North Yorkshire, will be transformed into a Theatre of Beer with more than 45 beers from a wide range of breweries.

Chris Waplington, from Bad Seed Brewery, said: "This is a great event raising money for Ryedale Special Families - a fantastic local charity that supports families that have children with special needs and disabilities, offering respite care and weekends away.

“Last year we raised more than £1,400 and this year looks to be bigger and better.”

Beertown will take place on April 22 and 23. Doors will open at midday with last orders at 11pm. There will also be a preview night on April 21, with free entry, from 5pm.

Tickets cost £6, which includes a refundable £2 glass deposit. There is also an early bird ticket offer before April 1, of £5 each.
