A PIG farmer's son who has become an acclaimed florist is hoping to boost a charity's coffers by demonstrating his flamboyant design skills.
Adam Prest, described by The Sunday Times as "the North’s hippest florist", said he had been inspired to stage a spring demonstration and afternoon tea at Ripon Golf Club for Yorkshire Cancer Research, after numerous of his customers fought and survived the disease.
The former Durham Houghall Agricultural College and Cundall Manor student, who launched his business aged 16, has announced the masterclass after a series of upcoming charity fundraising events throughout the North-East and London sold out.
Mr Prest, who is originally from Sedgefield, said: "Easter is a time of re-birth and re-emerging. That’s why I wanted to raise money for a charity which gives people strength and courage.
"Yorkshire Cancer Research do such a wonderful job and their support and help putting on this event has been exceptional."
For tickets, costing £15, to the event on Friday, April 22, from 1pm to 4pm, call 01943-880442.
