DETECTIVES are appealing for information after petrol was thrown into a parked car in an arson attack.

The Kia car was set on fire in Ripon, North Yorkshire between 10pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday, September 24 after the suspects smashed the rear window and threw petrol into the vehicle which was parked on the owner’s drive in Whitcliffe Grove.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage in the attack.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw anyone acting suspiciously. In particular they want to speak to the occupants of a large, dark-coloured vehicle seen in the area at the time.
