A HORSE was saved from a sticky end after it somehow became trapped in a slurry pit.
Firefighters from Richmond were called to the scene near Gatherley, Brompton-on-Swale, at about 6.40pm last night and found the horse embedded in the slurry.
The crew used an inflatable walkway, dry suits and lines to rescue the animal, which was then safely reunited with its owner.
