A NORTH Yorkshire school is recruiting local support to win funding to create a "classroom without walls”
Leeming RAF Community Primary School needs help to win a much-needed £10,000 colour and design makeover in a national competition with Dulux Smarter Spaces.
It has beaten off competition from across the country to be shortlisted in the national contest - with the aim of transforming its reception classroom.
Pupils were involved in the entry process and when asked what they wanted for their "Smarter Space" said they want to have a “classroom without walls."
"They want the indoor learning space to flow seamlessly into the outdoor environment; bringing the benefits of light and nature to learning," said a spokesman. "The children are proud to be service pupils and they want their space to reflect that identity."
Entries will be open to a public vote until September 8, when a panel of judges will decide upon the two deserving winning schools according to set criteria.
