TENNIS fans are being served up a treat with a host of Wimbledon memorabilia going under the hammer at a Dales auction house.

A private collection of Wimbledon memorabilia from the old Number One Court, Centre Court and the Wimbledon Museum is to be sold in Tennants Auctioneers’ in Leyburn on July 21.

It includes unique items ranging from a collection of bronze numbers removed from court seating in 1996, to signage and posters, signed photographs, and even a net post.

Highlights of the collection include a Wimbledon Court One pulley and counterweight for the rain covers, estimated at £50 to 80.

Three players’ locker doors from Court One are also on offer – signed by John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Bjorn Borg, estimated at £150 to 200 each.
