A TEENAGER has died in an incident at a waterfall in North Yorkshire.
The 19-year-old, believed to be from the Middlesbrough area, died after emergency services were called to reports of four people in difficulty at Wain Wath waterfall, on the River Swale, near Keld, in Swaledale at about 5pm on Friday.
He was one of two people taken to James Cook University Hospital by air ambulance, North Yorkshire Police said. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A force spokesman said: “There are not believed to by any suspicious circumstances, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team said its team was called by North Yorkshire Police as part of the rescue attempt.
Fire crews from Reeth and Hawes, Yorkshire Ambulance and the Great North Air Ambulance also attended.
