AN INDIAN restaurant has held a fundraising night in aid of a community centre, raising more than £700.
Saffron Indian restaurant in Leyburn held the curry fundraising night, attended by 60 people, and auctioned off a three course meal for ten people with all proceeds going to Leyburn Arts and Community Centre at the Old School House.
It provides a cinema, arts studio, dance studio and facilities for many other activities including musical and theatrical events and keep fit activities.
Leatham Foods in Leyburn and URE Salmon Group made a joint bid of £360 which boosted the donation for the evening to £786.
