AN outdoor adventure company is making its mark on the Yorkshire Dales landscape by helping to create new native woodlands.

Businesses coming to the Dales to take part in team-building activities with TeamWalking are leaving more than just their footprints in their wake.

For the last 10 years the company has dedicated a new native tree for every new client, helping to create new woodlands throughout the Dales.

And owner Mark Reid was joined by clients from Pro-Development to plant new trees to celebrate the anniversary.

Mr Reid is also the writer of the “Inn Way” guidebooks and has been walking the Dales for the last 20 years.

“I’ve covered 15,000 miles of paths and taken over 6,000 people out walking, and it is such a privilege to be able to share this beauty,” he said.

“But I firmly believe that everyone who enjoys the Dales should give a little back to help maintain this treasured landscape for future generations.”

The TeamWalking tree scheme supports the Dales Woodland Restoration Programme, which is delivered and funded by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, the National Park Authority and the Forestry Commission.

The programme aims to double Dales broadleaf woodland by 2020.
