A FUNDRAISING team has taken part in its 14th charity golf day for the MS Society.
Golfers from MS Society Hambleton and Richmondshire spent a day last week at Bedale Golf Club, and following the friendly tournament, players enjoyed a meal as well as a tombola and raffle which was well supported.
The event has been held every year since 2002 following the death of Louise Grimston at the young age of 28 from MS related illness. This prompted her aunt Chrissie Grimston to arrange the annual golf day, which has raised over £38,000 over the years. The winning team were from Crakehall Filling Station; the longest drive was won by Alan Sturdy of Crakehall and Maggie Tuer.
Branch chair Melva Steckles said: “The day has been a great success; a big thank to the teams and our sponsors, along with everyone who donated prizes.”
