A CELEBRATION has been held to mark the formation of Scouting's youngest section in Richmondshire.
Thirty years ago Beaver Colonies were formed nationally after Rainbows were introduced by the Guide movement.
To mark the occasion, 180 boys and girl beavers attended the Richmondshire Beaver’s Birthday Bash, most of whom camped overnight. Youngsters took part in archery, soft shooting, water games, crafts and campfire songs. The event was held at Thornton Watlass Hall and organised by Jane Davenport, assistant district commissioner for Beavers, supported by the 1st Barton Scout Group.
