A MAN has been hit by a lorry on the A66.
The man was rushed to Darlington Memorial Hospital after the incident between Bowes and Greta, just before 1pm today, July 11.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene on the eastbound carriageway as well as the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
A police spokesman confirmed the man’s injuries were minor.
The driver of the lorry was also assessed at the scene but needed no further treatment.
The road was closed in both directions following the incident but has now reopened.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call 101 quoting reference 0195 of July 11.
