A DRIVER involved in a police pursuit at up to 140mph has been charged and is due to appear in court today.
The 31-year-old from the Rotherham area was involved in a high speed chase along the A1 between Scotch Corner and Boston Spa on Tuesday (May 17).
The pursuit involved a police helicopter and police pursuit vehicles and lasted more than 50 miles through a 50mph zone in motorway road works in North Yorkshire.

He has been charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
He is due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, May 19).
A 22-year-old woman has also been arrested and released from bail and reported for prosecution in relation to drug offences.
