THE Wensleydale School's knack of producing great good badminton players shows no signs of abating.

All four boys and girls U14 and U16 teams won their age recent area championships at Richmond.

The teams will now go forward to represent the area at the Yorkshire Championships later this year.

Head of PE Lee Wasden paid tribute to the young players.

He said: "Wensleydale has produced great badminton players for years and it's good to see this tradition continuing."

The school has enjoyed further success with two pupils, Year 13 student Liam Rabjohn and Ben Lambert, who is Year 7, both qualifying to run for North Yorkshire after great performances in cross country at the country trials on Saturday, January 16.

The pair were among a group of ten students who got the chance to try out for the county after success at the area championships earlier this month.
