MEMBERS of Leyburn Junior FC U10s are celebrating successive league wins as the club looks forward to new challenges in a bigger league.

The U10s won the Wensleydale Junior Football League Premiership by six points, having only lost one match all season.

The team has now recorded back to back league title wins, having won the championship in 2013/14.

Next season, the club is joining Harrogate & District Junior Football league, taking four teams - U14s, U12s and two U10s.

Rob Wiltshire, club chairman, said: "We really think the move will develop the football talent in the club

"The players and parents are really up for the challenge of playing in a more competitive and quality junior league.

"Whilst we have 80 or so players currently registered, new players are always welcome to attend our community club at Friday evening training."

Training and trials for next season start on Friday, June 12 from 5pm to 7pm at The Wensleydale School.
