A NUMBER of residents have had to be rehomed for tonight following a blaze in a communal area of flats in Richmond.
Crews from Richmond and Colburn attended Willance Grove after the alarm was raised at 6.55pm (Tuesday, February 3) and quickly extinguished the fire.
It caused considerable heat and fire damage to the communal area and some of the flats were also affected by smoke damage. It is understood most of the occupants have been rehomed for tonight.
One woman was treated at the scene by paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation.
The cause of fire is still under investigation by a Fire Investigation Officer who is liaising with police.
