A 30-YEAR-OLD MIddlesbrough man has been arrested as part of North Yorkshire Police’s campaign to protect rural communities against travelling criminals.
It follows the theft of fuel from a lorry parked at Scotch Corner at about 12.30am today (October 10).
He was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and remains in police custody.
A police spokesman said following a search of the suspect’s home, officers found a large quantity of diesel.
Detective Inspector Shaun Page said: “This arrest shows our determination to make sure those that live and work in North Yorkshire are as safe from crime as possible."
