A 40-STRONG male voice choir, based in a remote, rural village in North Yorkshire, will be turning its vocals to country music for one night only.

The Dalesmen Singers, based in Danby on the North York Moors near Whitby, will be performing with local country music singer Paul Wheater on Saturday, July 22 at Guisborough Methodist Church.

The choir, which has performed around the UK and abroad, performs a wide repertoire of music, but this is believed to be the first time it has performed Country and Western music.

  • The event begins at 7.30pm. Tickets, £8, are available from Guisborough Book Shop, The Old Chapel Tea Room in Castleton or Danby Lodge Visitor Centre.
  • Alternatively ring Paul Wheater on 01947-810561, Peter Etwell on 01287-632852, or any Dalesmen choir member.
