A WALKING festival is to lead people on hikes to suit every taste and interest - including a walk that introduces people to local folklore and another which focuses on tea shops.
Rosedale Walking Festival will be taking place on June 25 and 26 and includes a varied timetable of walks around the picturesque part of the North York Moors.
The Saturday’s itinerary includes a nine mile walk taking in three cafes in and around the valley and a Pilgrims Way walk that will follow the path of Rosedale’s monks and take in the folklore of the area.
There will also be Nordic walks for beginners and those who are already familiar with the fitness activity, which involves walking with poles.
On Sunday there will be a walk up to the top of Chimney Bank, a wildlife walk and a Rosedale History walk. In the afternoon Rosedale Abbey School will lead a walk for children, following clues left on a Faerie Folk Trail.
People wanting to take part in the walks can turn up on the day. Places are limited and can be booked by ringing 01751 417505 or emailing; walkrosedale@outlook.com
