A STORE which last year was named the best in Britain is now in line for another accolade
Hunters of Helmsley has been nominated in the Great British Food Awards 2016, as the Best Independent Retailer in the North of England.
And now its owners are asking customers and supporters for their help to be crowned winner.
The awards, which launched in 2014, celebrate the country's finest home-grown ingredients, as well as those who produce and cook with them.
Christine Garnett, who owns the deli with her husband Chris, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted in this award, and as always, a little bit shocked.
“We love what we do, and good quality, local food and drink is our passion, so it’s always fantastic to hear that the wider world likes what we do too.”
Hunters has been based in Helmsley’s Market Place for 26 years and last year received the accolade of being crowned Britain’s Best Small Shop, at an event held at the House of Commons.
To vote for the latest award visit greatbritishfoodmagazine.com/awards before July 7. Voters will also be put into a prize draw to win one of 37 prizes worth £5,000.
