A DECISION over a controversial gas drilling scheme in the North York Moors National Park has been postponed, after planners said they needed more time to examine the proposals.
Members of North York Moors National Park Authority had been due to determine Third Energy and Moorland Energy's proposals for gas production and water re-injection at an existing borehole at Ebberston Moor, today (Thursday, May 14).
The firms are also seeking permission to drill a second borehole and a 13.9km underground pipeline from the site to Knapton Generating Station.
The scheme, which has generated hundreds of letters of objection, is set to be presented to the authority's planning committee on June 18.
