JUST one week is left for people to spot some of the North York Moors most unusual inhabitants – pink sheep.

Ranging from cakes to giant sculptures, the sheep are being displayed as part of the Lost Sheep in Pink Jersey’s campaign which finishes on September 20.

More than 200 such sheep on display - but people need to find just three to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

The National park’s campaign, which has been running since June 20, has been highly popular so far, with more than 5,000 entries.

Prizes range from accommodation and free days out at key attractions to local produce.

The park’s head of promotion, Catriona McLees, said: “I’m so pleased with how well this campaign has gone. People have really got behind it creating some amazing sheep out of all manner of materials.

“Feedback from those entering the competition has been very positive. Holiday makers have had great fun and have visited new and different places in their quest for more pink sheep. Locals too have been busy spotting sheep in their own villages but also on their way to work and while on days out.”

The prize draw will take place on September 21 and winners will be notified by September 28. More information can be found at northyorkmoors.org.uk/pinksheep
