STAFF and customers at a Northallerton store raised their hats to the fundraising efforts of a brave teenager who battled a brain tumour.
Northallerton teen Naomi Savage was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour when she was just four and underwent three operations and rounds of gruelling treatment before being told she was in remission from cancer.
Every year, Lewis & Cooper invites her mum, Lucy, to raise funds for Naomi’s Fight For Life Fund on Brain Tumour Research’s national Wear a Hat Day.
The fund has raised a remarkable £70,000 in ten-years.
Naomi, who is now 15, is still subject to annual checks but leads a fulfilling teenage life.
Currently studying for her GCSEs, she recently received a bravery award from Minster FM.
Lucy Savage, who is an oncology nurse at the Friarage Hospital, said: “Naomi’s story has touched so many hearts and we’re extremely grateful for all the support we receive throughout the year from Lewis & Cooper and other retailers in Northallerton.”
