CAMPAIGNERS put their best foot forward to raise awareness of the impact of dementia and raise money while doing so.
Fifty-seven people – including Richmond MP Rishi Sunak - took part in the second Northallerton Memory Walk which was one of many held around the country to benefit the Alzheimer’s Society.
The Northallerton event – a 10k and a 2.5k walk – was organised by Beryl Larder whose husband suffers from the disease.
She said: “We had a brilliant turnout. Thankfully, the weather was on our side and we had so much support from our volunteers and the public who gave generously. “We were very grateful that Rishi was able to find the time to join us.”
Mrs Larder said the proceeds were still being calculated but she was confident they would exceed the £2,500 raised last year.
