A NEW gin and vodka festival will be taking place in a North Yorkshire town this month.

The Little Gin Festival will be taking place in Northallerton Town Hall on Saturday, September 23 and will feature more than 30 different gins, including drinks by Yorkshire Dales distillery in Richmond and a number of vodkas.

It has been organised by the people behind Northallerton Beer and Cider festival, which will take place in the town on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30.

There will be two gin festival sessions on Saturday – both of which require tickets. The first takes place from 2pm until 6pm and the second from 6.30pm until 10.30pm.

One of the festival’s organisers, Louise Walker, said: “It’s the first time there’s been a proper gin festival in Northallerton. These kind of events usually only take place in really big towns like Harrogate and the little towns often miss out. We wanted to bring our festival into other areas of North Yorkshire. As well as all the other gins there will be different garnishes and people can learn how to make the perfect G&T.”

Tickets are available by visiting the Eventbrite website and searching for “thelittleginfestival”. Unsold tickets will be available on the door.
