CHILDREN will be able to attend woodland adventure workshops from a Mongolian yurt this summer.

The workshops will be run from the grounds of Northdale Horticulture, a garden nursery based on Yafforth Road in Northallerton, which provides training and work-based activities for adults with learning disabilities across Hambleton and Richmondshire.

They sessions will include den-building, bush crafts, art projects and team games and will begin on Friday, July 28.

They will be aimed at children aged between six and 12 and will be led by Jane Corbett, a newly qualified Forest School Leader throughout the school holidays.

Jane said: “I’m really excited about running the woodland adventure workshops and feel passionately about the many benefits of working alongside nature and being outdoors. Activities will include den-building, bush crafts, art projects, campfire cooking, and team games and is a great way to learn new skills, build up confidence, make new friends and most importantly have fun during the school holidays. The yurt is such an exciting space and will make a great base for the workshops.”

Sessions run from 9.30am until 3.30pm and prior booking is required. Concessions will be given for siblings and booking more than one workshop.
