A GARDEN nursery that employs adults with learning difficulties is to host its first woodland festival.
Northdale Horticulture will host the event on Saturday, October 1 at its site on Yafforth Road in Northallerton from 10am until 4pm.
There will be den-building area, a fairy house maker, bush crafts, a magical storyteller, scavenger hunt and woodland stalls offering advice and activities from building bird feeders to making wooden owls.
Event organizer, Jane Corbett said she hoped Northdale Woodfest would become an annual event.
“We are helping to promote the importance of trees and woodlands locally and gather people’s memories of their favourite trees,” she said.
“Local primary schools are also coming to decorate trees around the site. It promises to be a really lovely community event that has something to appeal for everyone.”
