HEALTH bosses are inviting residents to a consultation where they will hear proposals for the future of hospital services in Thirsk and Northallerton.

NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will hold community health service consultations over the next three months.

The consultations will allow people to hear ideas and give feedback on potential changes to services, including those at the Lambert Memorial Hospital in Thirsk and the Rutson Ward in Northallerton.

The options have been prepared in light of public feedback gathered between March and May this year.

Janet Probert, chief officer for the CCG said: “There are some important decisions that need to be made about the future shape, safety and quality of community services we want to be able to offer to local families.

“Since we first started engagement in 2013, our public and patients have told us that they want care at home or as close to home as possible. We have heard the same messages this year from recent engagement at our Transforming Our Communities listening events.

“We want to deliver this, but in order to make services Fit 4 the Future we need to consult with the public on some options, particularly around The Lambert Memorial Hospital in Thirsk and The Rutson Ward in Northallerton.

“Over the next 12 weeks we hope to meet and hear from as many people as possible and gather feedback. At the end of the consultation period, we will review all of the comments received before making our decisions.”

The first sessions will take place on Thursday, July 7 at Thirsk Library between 11am and 2pm. The following event will be on the afternoon of Sunday, July 10 at Northallerton Carnival. Other consultations are being held at Sowerby, Osmotherley, Borrowby and Muker.

More information about the consultation including other confirmed events will be available on the CCG website: www.hambletonrichmondshireandwhitbyccg.nhs.uk

If you are unable to provide feedback in person, a questionnaire will be made available. You can also contact the CCG directly by email on hrwccg.feedback@nhs.net
