ALL the fun of the fair is coming to Northallerton next week – with an added attraction.

The town’s annual May Fair from April 28 to May 2 coincides with the third day of the Tour de Yorkshire passing through on May 1.

Parking, together with bus and taxi collection points, will change from 6pm on April 27 until Tuesday May 3 at 8am.

Parts of the High Street between Zetland Street and All Saints Church will be closed during the fair’s opening hours as the fair is set up and dismantled. Diversion routes will be posted throughout the town for drivers.

The Applegarth, Crosby Road long stay and Hambleton Forum car parks will operate as usual, except for a small number of parking bays in the long stay area of the Applegarth which will be used by the Showmen’s Guild.

Bus stops will be moved to Zetland Street for northbound services; and outside the library for southbound services. The Town Hall taxi rank will move to Zetland Street.

There will be additional disabled parking bays outside the Post Office and the Saturday market will be relocated to the southern end of the High Street.

There will also be extra road closures on May 1 to allow the tour to pass through.
