STUDENTS have reached new heights after their A level grades topped the tables.

Northallerton School and Sixth Form College has received outstanding recognition from the Department for Education in the recently published government league tables for pupil progression from GCSE to A level.

The college achieved a positive score of 0.14, placing them in second place overall within the league table of all North Yorkshire state schools, significantly outperforming other stand alone sixth form providers in neighbouring authorities.

The government’s value added score shows how much progress students make between the end of GCSE examinations and A levels.

Exam and data manager for Northallerton Sixth Form College Maja While said: “Basically what these latest results show is that students who come to Northallerton Sixth Form College achieve better grades at A level than pupils with the same GCSE grades who study elsewhere.

“We are absolutely delighted with the results, which are a real credit to the hard work put in by staff and students at the college.”

Northallerton Sixth Form Centre will be holding a taster day for all Year 11 students on Friday, February 12 to sample a range of A level courses on offer.
