A CELEBRATION of freshwater fishing is to be held in North Yorkshire, with attractions to appeal to everyone from complete fishing novices to more experienced anglers.
The event at Cornhill Farm Fishery at East Cowton, near Northallerton is being held in conjunction with the Angling Trust and the national angling charity Get Hooked on Fishing.
The fun day is open to all ages. There will be a have-a-go sessions, top tip sessions, fly-fishing coaching and beginner and adult matches. There will also be live music, archery, a hog roast and face painting.
One of the organisers, Andy Lobel, said: “This is open to all ages, from those who have never fished before, basic beginners, right through to those more experienced anglers.
“It’s basically a great opportunity for people in the area to come down and have a go at fishing or try something they might not have done before.”
The event runs on Saturday, September 19 from 10am until 4pm. The event and most of the activities are free.
