A MAN who died in a late-night motorcycle crash earlier this month has been named locally as Jamie Readman from Northallerton.

Mr Readman, 24, was killed in the collision just before midnight on Friday, August 7 in Catterick Garrison. No other vehicles were involved.

He was riding a white Kawasaki ZX636 east-bound on Leyburn Road, when it left the road and hit a lamppost.

Mr Readman was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a newspaper announcement ahead of his funeral at All Saints Parish Church, Northallerton on Thursday (August 20), he was described as a “dearly loved son of Angela and Anthony, brother of Dean and Hayley".

The family added: “Jamie will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends and all who loved him.”

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or the motorcycle involved before the crash, to call them on 101, select option 2 and ask for the Major Collision Investigation Team, or email MCIT@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference number 12150137181.
