CRIME and how to reduce it will come under the spotlight at the next meeting of Northallerton local businesses.
The town’s Retail and Business Forum will be focussing on crime reduction when it meet on Wednesday, May 13.
Chris Chelton, Radiolink coordinator for the business crime reduction partnership in the Harrogate area, will be giving a presentation.
He will look at the town’s Shopwatch radiolink network, which is used in partnership with police and the town’s CCTV system, operated by Hambleton District Council.
There will also be a discussion about local and travelling offenders and advice on the system’s capabilities.
Forum secretary, Gareth Dant, said: “Our town is generally a safe, pleasant place in which to shop, socialise and do business, but we would never wish to be complacent.
“We hope to welcome faces old and new from the business community to come and hear what Chris and his colleagues have to share.”
The meeting will be in Barkers Bistro at 6pm and is open to all retailers and business from the town.
