THE public are beimg asked to nominate police officers and community support officers for North Yorkshire's Safer Neighbourhoods Awards 2012.
Nominations are needed from each of the six Safer Neighbourhood Command areas across the county: Hambleton and Richmondshire, York, Scarborough and Ryedale, Selby, Harrogate and Craven.
Police authority chairman Jane Kenyon said: "This award scheme has run for several years now, and we are constantly and increasingly impressed and proud of the standards of our ffficers and staff who work tirelessly to do that bit extra for our communities.
“Officers and staff work throughout the year without thought of being singled out but it is appropriate and an honour for the authority to be able to pay tribute to their achievements through these awards.
"Given the abolition of the Police Authority in November 2012, this will obviously be the last opportunity for the authority to celebrate the achievements of NYP's officers and staff during a process of this nature."
Nomination forms can be downloaded from nypa.gov.uk/sna or requested from the support unit (01765) 641839 or through the non-emergency number 101.
Forms must be returned by May 18.
