A MAJOR in the Army has been discharged after it emerged he made thousands of images of child abuse and sent some to other people.

Kim Taylor, 47, based at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, appeared at Teesside Crown Court where he confessed to the sickening crimes.

He will face prison when he returns to be sentenced next month. He was given bail until October 20 by Judge Howard Crowson.

Taylor was booted out of his home in Rawlinson Road at the barracks and now lives in Lord Street, Blackpool, the court was told.

He pleaded guilty to 14 charges of distributing indecent images of children and 12 of making them.

He also admitted making a further 2,000-plus stills, and more than 250 movies.

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "The Army does not comment on the outcome of court cases or judges' comments.

"But following convictions there is a disciplinary process, and anyone sent to prison would be discharged from the Army."
