WITH just weeks before it’s due to reopen following a major refurbishment the Black Bull at Moulton, North Yorkshire, has appointed two key members of staff.

Ian Pilcher is the new general manager, and Luke Taylor, head chef. Ian, previously worked for Shire Hotels and Thwaites Inns of Character, bringing more than 18 years’ experience in Inn and Hotel management.

The Black Bull, which reopens the end of March, is extending to include 16 bedrooms later in the year. Owners Provenance Inns are also carrying out the refurbishment of the West Park Hotel in Harrogate in time for the Grand Départ in July.

Mr Taylor has worked for Provenance Inns since November 2011 when he opened The Punch Bowl Inn in Marton-cum-Grafton as head chef having previously worked at the Rockcliffe Hall Hotel in Durham.

Mr Pilcher said: “The Black Bull has been restored to its former glory, and I’m looking forward to putting it back on the map as the place to go for fantastic local food and a great atmosphere.”

Head chef Mr Taylor will head a team of 10 at The Black Bull which is currently recruiting, email Ian Pilcher at manager@theblackbullmoulton.com
