RESIDENTS have called for action over noise and anti-social behaviour outside a youth venue after the latest incident when red paint was thrown around.
People who live near the Bedale Youth Venue, in North End at the side of Bedale Hall, say it is the latest of several worrying incidents.
“We support the youth venue - obviously it is good for youngsters to spend time together and have somewhere to go. It is important that they have that opportunity,” said one.
“But for years without complaint we have put up with drunkenness, foul language, vandalism, graffiti and noise disturbance every Friday night between 7pm and 9pm.
“We regularly get shouting and people being sick, this time it was red paint which was thrown around underneath the archway.”
“That could have been trampled through the town and created a real mess, It was bad enough as it was and it’s still pink under the archway.”
A police spokesman said no reports had been made to them. The venue could be contacted to comment.
