THE team behind the first Bedale Monthly Market say they were delighted with the response – after attracting nearly 20 stalls and a good footfall.
The event last weekend was the latest venture from Yorkshire Food Markets, which also holds similar markets in both Malton and Scarborough.
It featured local producers and had an emphasis on artisan foods including bread, cheeses, meats, pies, cakes and preserves as well as some non-food items.
Joint organisers Caroline Anderson and Andrew Riley said: “We are hoping Bedale Monthly Market will become the best place locally to shop on Sunday, where people can find good food, relax and enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat.
“There was varied choice of traders and going forward we hope to attract even more traders to the event which takes place every third Sunday.
“We would like to say thank you to Bedale Town Council for their support and help in setting up the market.”
November will include two days of foodie stalls and locally produced goods on November Saturday 21 and Sunday 22, while the final date for 2015 will be December 20.
The market will then take a break until March next year.
