TICKETS have gone on sale for a North Yorkshire music festival which will take place later this year.

Bedale Acoustic Music Festival (BAMfest) will take place in Bedale, North Yorkshire between May 29 and 31 this year.

Following on from last year’s success, the organisers have announced the main artists who will be performing at this year’s festival.

Martin Stephenson will be one of those performing. He has had a large following in the UK over the past 30 years and performs a varied mix of musical styles from folk to jazz and rockabilly.

Contemporary folk rock act, Blackbeard’s Tea Party appeared at the first BAMfest in 2013 to a great reception and are due to return again this year. Henry Priestman, a former member of the band, The Christians and a patron of BAMfest will also be returning to the event with his band.

Others who will be performing include award-winning roots blues duo Babajack, Henry Priestman, Duncan McFarlane, Flossie Malavialle and The Young ‘uns.

Organiser John Knighton said: “There are lots of new faces at BAMfest this year. We have scoured the UK to find the best in acoustic music – from blues, to folk to gypsy jazz and everything in between.”

The music will be performed in local pubs, clubs and cafes in Bedale across the weekend.

A list of the main artists who will be performing can be found on the festival’s newly revamped website: www.bamfest.co.uk

The new website also allows people to pay for the festival by card, or in instalments.

Volunteers are also being sought to help with a variety of different jobs. If anyone would like to get involved they can fill in a form on the website.
