BEDALE under-13 cricket team triumphed in the Hambleton Junior Cricket League Norman Whitely Cup after a tense final.
Opponents North Stainley batted first, posting a target of 76 off 19 overs.
Bedale started slowly before the lower order scored heavily. However, the game still went down to the wire with Bedale needing six off the last over.
After two byes, Bedale got an edged four to claim the cup.
The chairman of Alne Cricket Club, which hosted the final, presented the cup and medals to both teams and said it was the most exciting final he had witnessed for quite a number of years.
