YOUNGSTERS have made a splash by winning a local swimming competition held by the Thirsk White Horse Swim Team.
Ben Grandison, from Ripon, and Joan Clayton, from Helperby, near Thirsk, were joint winners of the bi-annual Tadpole Gala.
The competition is for youngsters aged nine and under and it is designed to introduce them to racing in a friendly environment.
Single length racers are held in several styles for each age group with points awarded according to the final position.
Ben and Joan won all of their races, giving them maximum points and making them overall winners of the event.
